Fresh off the Truck: Albert Bichot Morey-Saint-Denis Les Sorbets Premier Cru

Wednesday, November 10, 2021

That "premium cabin" red Burgundy I wrote about last week arrived and I cracked open a bottle. Let's get right into it...

2014 Albert Bichot Morey-Saint-Denis Les Sorbets Premier Cru
13% Alcohol
Release Price: $90
Purchased Price: $54.95

At about 30% opaque this wine does what Pinot Noir can do so well: It delivers a compelling experience full of depth and flavor without being overly full bodied.

Leaps from the glass immediately upon opening with a perfect combination of ripe fruit and florals with supporting earthy notes.

Mouthfeel is elegant yet satisfying with silty tannic grip. Refreshing and luscious.

94/100 WWP: Outstanding

They say "if you think you found a good cheap Burgundy" you've actually only found a "cheap Burgundy." This is by no means cheap at $54.95 but it is on the affordable side of quality red Burgundy.

This would be a terrific wine to pour for Thanksgiving and in general a great one to take a chance on if you -like me- generally prefer bolder California Pinot Noirs but are interested in exploring OG Pinot Noir.

Mix and match 6 bottles for free shipping -or- $10 flat ground.

They included a promo code for 10% off a future order in the delivery. It's unclear whether that could be used on a first order w/referral code. Probably?
