Analysis

I've had a chance to taste a number of Sojourn's 2017 Pinot Noirs. They were all firmly in the 91-93 point range for me. Whenever I get into a slump when experimenting with wines, I find Sojourn to be a solution that gets me back where I want to be.

Sojourn's 2017 appellation Pinot Noirs have a release price in the $39-$45 range, and a single vineyards between $48-$69.

Option 1 is, I think, good for those familiar with the Sojourn portofolio and appreciate the quality and differences in their single vineyard wines. The Gap's Crown bottling can, in my experience, go beyond Outstanding to Classic.

Option 2 is the package I would recommend for most. I think Sojourn's appellation wines are a perennial value play at retail prices. At these discounted prices, including the single vineyard Wohler bottling that retails for $54, it's a terrific package. Years ago I tasted through three flights of high flying California Pinot Noirs blind. The Wohler Pinot Noir was my wine of the night, and showed strongly for the group overall. It was a 2009 I tasted that night, but my point is that Sojourn can produce tremendous wine from Wohler Vineyard so I'm excited about this bundle. Free shipping too.

Option 3 is a nice way to dip your toe into Sojourn's offerings, but alas - no free shipping.

Bottom Line

My thanks to Sojourn for allowing me to share this offer.
